Next Set of Characters

I have always loved sculptures in their raw clay form. The material gives off a sense of life that is hard to reclaim after the piece has been through a firing. Using these images in digital media pieces allows me to hold onto the fluid nature of these characters. At least to some degree. Of course, the photograph itself filters the piece as well.

Nothing documents "now" perfectly. One moment a piece is made the next it is remade, remixed, newly made, always "now" but never the same.

I love these figures you create. The unique distortion and strange quality you give them really appeals to me - I definitely find them beautiful. I am seeing allot of potential in this piece! I know this project is still in process, but the sketchy roughness I've seen in your work is appealing and I'd like to see that carried throughout the entire piece - even in the background of this movie.

Are you still planning on making this piece interactive? I remember your ideas about allowing the viewer to select different areas where there would be several interactions and perspectives to explore. I think this is a great idea and you should use it or file it away for future use.

Thanks for the input Sarah. I am still planning on making an interactive piece. I plan on finishing "The Clock" as well. Hopefully it will be a decent stand alone piece as well as a resource for imagery for the future interactive and maybe live versions.

I was very happy to receive such a detailed critique of this last animation. I was at a bit of a stand still on it. After hearing everyone's reactions I was able to see it differently.

I think you are right about adding the sketchy roughness to the background. I was experimenting a bit by trying to avoid such thick imagery in my backgrounds but I think that I will at least push them past the stage they are in right now.
